Notify customers when out-of-stock products become available again at a specific location. This article walks you through the entire setup flow—from enabling the feature, configuring email settings, and customizing the notification button and pop-up.
Note: The Back in Stock feature is subject to our fair usage policy, as outlined on the policy page in the app.
Setup
Step 1: Turn the “Back in Stock” feature on
In your Multi-Location Inventory app, click Back in Stock.
Click the Turn on button to enable the feature.
When enabling this feature for the first time, you may be prompted to grant additional permissions required by the app. Please click Continue > Update when prompted.
After enabling, you’ll be redirected to the Back in Stock page, where you need to click Turn on once again. The feature will then start in Test mode.
In this mode, you’ll be using our email gateway for free. Active alerts will be limited to 10 email subscriptions. When you’re ready to go live after testing, you can configure other gateways (see Step 2).
IMPORTANT: If you disable the feature after using Test mode, it will not be automatically enabled again when you turn the feature back on.
Make sure to click Save.
Step 2: Configure the Email gateway
Click Email Gateway to get started.
Choose the email gateway that you’ll use to send back-in-stock notifications. You can select between Mailgun and Sendgrid.
Supply the required information:
- Mailgun – API key and sending domain
- Sendgrid – API key
Click Save to apply your settings.
IMPORTANT: You must update the “From” field in the Email template page. The field becomes editable once a gateway is connected.
Customization options
Email template
Click Email template to customize your notification emails. Use the code editor to make changes, and click Preview to review how the email will appear.
Notification button and pop-up
Click the Notification Button option to customize the text that shows on your product widget.
Click the Notification Popup to configure the fields and messaging shown in the back-in-stock signup pop-up.
Additional: Analytics
You can use the Analytics option to monitor back-in-stock notification subscriptions and other important metrics.
